speed (3-5 times faster than a hammer in the right kind of rock)
re-useable excavated material
heavy-duty design
maintenance-free bearing assemblies
the wide design of the drum bearings provides optimal force absorption
no drain line required
fewer vibrations means work is less demanding
- excavation
- trenching
- pipeline construction
- profiling
- other excavation operations
Cutting units are the right choice - if the material is too hard for the bucket, but not so hard that only a hammer or blasting would cut it.
The Rockwheel always excavates the exact width of the trench.
If the rock is too hard for working with a bucket, the Rockwheel speeds up the process 3-5 times.
The excavated material can be used for refilling.
Rockwheels are designed for the toughest applications. The massive Hardox helix section and heavy duty picks made of hard metal are virtually unbreakable.
Rockwheel is the most robust heavy-duty design on the market.
Rockwheels can be used in noise-sensitive areas such as cities or residential areas. The units work almost silently. The main noise comes from the excavator and the crushed material.
The Rockwheels also generate much lower vibration to surrounding areas and buildings.

"If I compare working with a hammer to working with the cutting unit, I much prefer working with the cutting unit. You immediately notice there is less vibration. Great.“"
"The foundation of our new house gave us big problems. The material was much too hard for ordinary excavation. The Rockwheel made light work of the job – and is extremely quiet. So working in our populous residential area was no problem.“"
"Very little vibration - that’s how the Rockwheel cutting units operate. This is so much better than demolition using a hammer. Our excavator operators in particular are very pleased! The vibration-free work with Rockwheels makes their life so much easier!"
"There is no better solution for civil engineering in soft to hard material. Rockwheels cut the rock easily and quietly. The excavated material can be re-used straightaway - perfect!"
